Maris I agree it has a sexual element but I feel like the comment is kind of shaming Lewis for doing that. There were other people who did Cherry and had a sexual atmosphere but where is their shame for it? Plus I feel like it fit the prompt of embodying the fruit. Now if it was an orange, different story. Oranges aren't seductive or romantic.
Now if this is a recurring theme of their photos then I can see a bit of a frustration and lack of flexibility/versatility, but this is just round 2 and the first photo of this. And to answer your question on how he got a 9.3, well when you average the scores from the judges, you get a 9.3. That is how it works.
NicoRobin I know how the jury's scoring system works, I don't need you to explain it, but I'm talking about the photo brief and men's fashion editorials; we rarely see a photo with that kind of basis, I understand that cherries are considered sexy, but I would never see a photo like that in a fashion editorial. When I said "horrible photo," I meant in relation to the proposed theme. If it weren't for NTM, maybe it would be a cool photo, but we're talking about fashion editorials here.
Maris, well maybe you shouldn't question how they got the score if you aren't in the room. At the end of the day it is just a fun game. These photos aren't going in a real editorial. Allow them to explore the usual norms and if it is an issue then the judges would say something about it.
