DNTM3 - Fruits Photoshoot

Seong 1 hour ago25 views

Lets find out how i did my concept for Fruits Photoshoot? I noticed some people were a bit confused about my photo for the #DNTM3 fruit theme, so I decided to come here and share some of my references. Just a heads-up: my gameplay style and how I view photography isn't just about the same old "sexy" look that leans on a model’s curves and flowing hair. I enjoy playing with concepts and incorporating the inspirations I love. As soon as I read the theme for this specific photo, I knew I wanted to go in one of two directions: Grapes, inspired by the god Dionysus, or Peach, focusing on something artistic, light, and cute—which ended up being my final choice. I’m a big fan of the photographer Cho Gi Seok (and so many other photographers) and how he manages to balance photography with an air of mysticism while maintaining a light vibe, focusing on expressions and the overall feeling of the shot. I understand this is a modeling game, but I prefer to tell a story through the photo while still adhering to editorial standards. If you look into Asian photographers and portfolios—stepping outside the Y2K bubble—you'll see they are incredibly artistic and have a unique vision, which I believe is something currently missing in the game. Anyway, here are some of the references I used to put together and get the photo I submitted:

Modelling is a broad concept and I loved to see something different this week. While I think you should not only rely on these kind of photography for every challenge, it feels refreshing to see something new and HIGHLY editorial 💋

While I agree with your concepts being so unique and well executed and photographed very well, there needs to still be a supermodel look to your model (which entrance and week1 was present) even if the photography is beautiful that's not the premise of the "show".

Ralts023 i agree with you Ralts, but it feels like i'm seeing the same photos over and over again. Models can rely on soft concepts too, people have such an ocidental vision of what a model should be and THIS is the point of what i'm bringing to the game. I want to break this unique vision that a lot of people have of what a model should be portraying. I'm sure half of the cast would submit only sparkling dresses and flying hair for the entire competition if possible and men would rely on shirtless pics. not for me honestly

Seong, if the judges like it, then keep doing it. Adapt. Pull some rose petals out of your ass

Seong You are for sure the one I'm most excited to see so far, but also don't lose sight of winning while still being true to you being able to adapt. Good luck ❤️

Seong, if you are having fun, that is all that matters, and isn't that what art is all about, being inspired by others and then adding your own twist to it? I don't know, my art teacher in elementary school never praised me, so I was like, eh, well fuck you too, art. Her name wasn't art. Her name was....I should respect her privacy. She could be on this site.
