Learning. “They think they’re better than us,” Fran whispered, shaking. “They know they are,” BRAT muttered. A laugh. Low. From outside. Jaded stepped forward. “You finally getting it?” she said. Her voice wasn’t playful anymore. It was sharp. Ugly. “You people always take too long,” Jaded continued. “Always confused, always emotional.” Gabs frowned. “What are you talking about?” Jaded tilted her head. “Outsiders,” she said. “Always coming into places that aren’t yours.” Cristi smirked. “Dragging your mess with you,” she added. Melanie crossed her arms. “Thinking you belong everywhere.” BRAT snapped. “We were LOST!” “No,” Jaded said coldly. “You were allowed in.” A beat. Then— Glitter laughed softly. “They all think it’s an accident,” she said. “Every time.” Torimarie whispered something under her breath. Faster now. Nervous. Jaded stepped closer to the car. Her eyes scanning them. Judging. “We don’t make mistakes here,” she said. “We keep things the way they’re supposed to be.” Bubba swallowed. “And what is that supposed to mean?” A pause. Then Cristi spoke. Blunt. “We don’t mix.” Silence dropped. Heavy. Melanie added, almost casually: “People like you come in… change things… ruin things.” Gabs felt her stomach twist. “This is insane.” “No,” Jaded said. “This is order.” Glitter smiled faintly. “Strong borders,” she added. Cristi laughed. “Strong leadership.” Melanie nodded. “Finally someone who understood that.” BRAT frowned. “What are you even talking about?” Jaded’s smile widened. “You wouldn’t get it,” she said. “People like you never do.” A pause. Then— “But he did.” Poof didn’t move. Didn’t react. Jaded gestured vaguely. “He knew how to keep things in place,” she continued. “No chaos. No outsiders. No dilution.” Glitter added: “Make things the way they were supposed to be again.” Fran whispered, horrified: “What is wrong with you people…?” Ribs stepped forward slightly inside the car. Eyes sharp. Analyzing. “They think they’re preserving something,” she said quietly. Jaded smiled. “Exactly.” Then her gaze snapped to Gabs. Cold. Focused. “And you don’t belong in it.” Silence. The door opened. “Gabs—NO—” Bubba gasped. Too late. Gabs stepped out. Ribs cursed under her breath— Then immediately followed. “Stay behind me,” Ribs said. “Not happening,” Gabs replied. They stopped a few steps away from the group. Poof watched them. But only one of them mattered. Gabs. “You keep staring,” she said. “Why?” No answer. Jaded scoffed. “Oh my god,” she muttered. “Don’t tell me—” Poof finally spoke. “You’re not like the others.” Ribs stepped in instantly. “Don’t,” she warned. Gabs frowned. “What does that mean?” Poof hesitated. Just for a second. That was enough. Glitter’s smile slowly grew. “Oh this is bad…” she whispered. Jaded turned. Really looked at him now. Disgust spreading across her face. “You’re serious,” she said. “I didn’t say that,” Poof replied. Too fast. “Yes, you did,” Jaded snapped. “Just not out loud.” Tension snapped tight. Ribs noticed everything. The hesitation. The shift. The imbalance. “You’re breaking your own rules,” she said quietly. That hit. Hard. Poof’s eyes flickered to her. Then back to Gabs. “I don’t want—” He stopped. Silence. Jaded stepped closer. Dangerous. Unstable. “Finish that sentence,” she said. Poof didn’t. That was the answer. Something in Jaded snapped. “This is what happens,” she said, her voice rising, cracking, “when you let them in.” Her breathing became uneven. Erratic. “They infect everything,” she continued. “They make you weak.” Melanie stepped back. “Jaded—” Too late. Jaded pointed violently at Gabs. “This is why we keep them OUT!” The air changed. Instantly. Torimarie dropped to her knees. “It’s listening—” she whispered. A low sound echoed through the town. @Not from them. From everywhere. Ribs grabbed Gabs’ arm. “Back. Now.” Jaded laughed. Too loud. Too wrong. “You think this place chooses?” she said. “We are the ones who—” CRACK. She froze. A sound. Wet. Deep. From inside her. Her smile faltered. “What—” she whispered. Her arm jerked. Wrong direction. Bone pushing under skin. SNAP. Her elbow bent backward. Fran screamed from the car. Jaded gasped— Then choked— As her ribs shifted under her skin. Visible. Moving. “No—no—NO—” she stammered. Her torso twisted violently. Like something inside her was pulling her apart. Cristi stepped back. “What is happening—?” Torimarie sobbed. “It’s correcting… it’s correcting—” Jaded collapsed to her knees. Her spine arched— Too far— CRACK. Her body folded. Unnaturally. Blood spilled from her mouth. Her jaw dislocated sideways. Her eyes locked on Poof. Begging. “Help—” It came out broken. Wet. Poof didn’t move. Couldn’t. Because now he understood. They didn’t control Dry Creek. Dry Creek controlled them. Jaded’s body convulsed one last time— Bones snapping inward— Like she was being crushed from the inside— Then— Silence. She dropped. What remained… Was wrong. Unrecognizable. No one moved. Not the girls. Not the killers. For the first time— They all felt the same thing. Fear. Glitter whispered: “…it didn’t like that.” A long pause. Then— Poof looked at Gabs. And finally said it. Clear. Undeniable. “I don’t want you to die.” The words cut through everything. Ribs stiffened instantly. Protective. Alert. “Yeah?” she said coldly. “That’s a problem.” Because the ground trembled. Again. Stronger this time. Torimarie started crying. “It’s watching him now…” Gabs didn’t move. Didn’t speak. But her heart was racing. Because that wasn’t just interest. That was something else. Something dangerous. Ribs pulled her back. Slow. Careful. “We’re leaving,” she whispered. But deep down— She knew. No one leaves Dry Creek. Behind them— Poof didn’t follow. Didn’t attack. He just stood there. Watching Gabs. Not like prey. Like something he wasn’t supposed to want. And in Dry Creek— That might be the worst mistake of all. Four entered the night. Four remained. But now— The game had changed. Because the town didn’t just watch the girls anymore. It was watching him too.

9. Dimitra's Stilletos - I think this is a good powerup in theory, but with how much race has evolved, it's only solid in the first like 2 rounds. At the moment, it isn't as good due to placement uncertainty and the other powerups boosting scores, so walking is like rarely the play. Even if you have a good partner, there are other powerups that are better. 8. Hubris - NOW. This one is a TOP 3 powerup for gamebots, if not #2/#1. But for most race players? It lands here. The goal for race is often to just not be last, so it honestly misses the mark. 7. Opportunities - Honestly got worse after the reroll cost deduction, but people will get it for the quick $25 boost. It has its niche, and honestly less money for a reroll can be crucial to get endgame powerups. 6. Colfector - I underrated this powerup before! I can confidently say that getting this powerup at the beginning is a huge money builder and is a good powerup for the long run if you know you're not gonna spend much at the beginning; basically a better Dimitra's Stilettos. There are better powerups for money management though. 5. Headstart - This powerup is the BEST to counteract "nuke" partners in the early game for those who worry about a partner imbalance. An 18% boost to your score at the beginning? Hello, that's a steal! Obviously, it'll depend on the competition (it's much better for minigames with lower variance, like shapes/starfall/codebreaker), but it's the best early-game powerup. Once you get past F5 it loses its value, but depending on the minigame, it can still help alot! 4. Helicopter - Honestly, you need to have a money saving/moneymaking build to be able to make helicopter work, because otherwise, it's useless. It's a late game powerup BUT it comes in clutch. On its own, it's not amazing. But paired with #1, it's crazy good. And paired with a moneymaking build, it's gamebreaking. 3. Miracle - I think this is the most underrated powerup and the one that all of the gamebots should consider in their build. Miracle is busted asf if you get a luck comp -- IF YOU USE IT CORRECTLY. Score 1500 in lucky drop? Consider it a 2100 now. Get a 70,000 dollar deal? Now it's almost 100k. It's good to turn your bad luck around, but it's ALSO good to boost the fuck out of your score to potentially cover your partner's shortcomings. However, this powerup is only helpful when you get a luck comp, and only if you save mediocre scores (or if you want to boost a good score to spend less money), so it's very niche -- BUT it's insanely powerful. 2. Inspiration - If you have a strong partner, or even a decent partner, YOU NEED THIS POWERUP. Any type of boost to your score will help you guys spend less. This is a very balanced powerup that helps even out the playing field. 1. Reckless Joyride - Can you believe that it was a 30% price reduction beforehand? Even 15% is insanely strong because of how it can be paired. Helicopters become $55. If you have Hubris/Colfector, you can have a more relaxed budget because you have more money in the pocket, allowing you to spend more. It's just such a good combo powerup. I'll make a blog later for builds maybe ^^

Hubris ~ I feel like this power up is VERY situational and only makes sense if you are clearly the best team in the cast without question. However, there is a world where this power up does make sense. I feel like I'd just never be confident enough to select it regardless of my partner. 7. Dimitra's Stilletos ~ This is a decent power up if you can grab it first, but if you don't get it first there's almost no reason to grab this power up. 6. Headstart ~ This power up I've gone back and forth on where to put it on this ranking. In the first couple rounds it's a really good power up and you can probably make it through the first couple rounds with ease if you're competent in challenges. 5. Colfector ~ This is the definition of a mediocre powerup. This powerup will never be good or bad. However, if you are spending money then this power up absolutely makes no sense. 4. Miracle ~ I do really enjoy this power up because if you get a shitty first deal you can still stay, or even if you get 1200 in lucky drop it will boost your score to an acceptable score. The reason why it's not higher is because you never know if you're going to get deal as a comp or not. 3. Helicopter ~ I do feel like if you are in finale with other people that can take a helicopter you are COOKED if you don't have it. If you are in finale and you're the only one that can helicopter then I think you have this win on lock. 2. Reckless Joyride ~ Everything being 15% cheaper just makes sure you'll have enough money to train/helicopter in finale and if you're in danger you can use a high mode of transport and not go broke because of it. 1. Inspiration ~ I feel like this power up is the most reliable power up, especially if you have a good partner. It can save you without you even knowing it's going to save you. Realistically if you have this power up or helicopter then it makes sense to take this because you'll only get 5% less in finale and you'll be secure in every other round. Sin
