Royale raffle suggestions
1) minimum point requirement… someone in the current game has 0 points and 3 games played… maybe require that you have at least 300 points to enter the raffle?
2) increased odds of being picked for each consecutive raffle you enter where you aren’t picked
3) decreased odds of being picked just for the very next game… ex., if you’re in royale #70, you’d have slightly decreased odds of getting into #71 if you enter that raffle, but it goes back to normal for #72. Or something like this. Just to somewhat ease up on playing back to back to back games when others aren’t getting picked to play. (This coming from someone who has played back to back to back games)
I haven’t been picked 5 times in a row now whereas I’ve seen some players get picked almost every time. And me missing 5 in a row isn’t even nearly as bad as what I’ve seen for other folks.
tl;dr the raffle system is fine and makes sense, but some behind the scenes magic to help smooth out the process of getting in would be great
Just food for thought after race updates are off your plate Sin, I know other players have been slightly frustrated with the enrollment process for royale as well

I like these, although I did talk to some people about some bigger Royale changes I had in mind... I know people like short Royale but I really also like the idea of a slightly longer but less time-demanding format. Maybe a much bigger cast. I want to focus on things like Zone/Map Control and have that be a viable strategy. I was thinking of disabling A3, B3, D3, E3, C1 and C5 to create chokehold points around the map, and then have some zone control items added. Maybe even a teams gamemode where it's 2 teams or 4 teams, and the last team standing wins.
Sin I honestly have not been pro short royale. I feel like it takes away from the spark of getting selected to play and people get burnt out very quickly. I do like the idea of zone control though and I think that would be a nice added touch. I don't know if I necessarily like the idea of a team format necessarily but maybe districts of 2 could be a cute added touch to it. Also, maybe the map is different each game to keep the strategy aspect always moving. Other than that I like your thought process though!
NaughtyNacho If Teams were added the idea was for it to be a special mode selected every 4-5 games. The idea is that having say 4 teams would force players to play aggressively because you have clear opps and clear allies, and can't just play passively. 4 teams could be really interesting in seeing team-wide alliances, especially in the above map where the top left and right zones are seperated by 3 chokepoints from the bottom ones. I could have a few map presents, though I think it's arbitrary until I can make zone control a viable strategy. That's the question atm.
Sin I am personally a big supporter of the shorter Royale format for a couple of reasons… 1) the increased pop up rate that causes shorter games makes it more fun and interesting. Finding and clicking pop ups is one of the most satisfying parts of the game. 2) Royale as a format is quite time consuming and attention demanding. To me, the shorter games helps a lot so that I’m not spending 2-3 days being hyper focused on the game. If there’s days I know I can’t really play I can skip the raffle. 3) a shorter game means it feels less bad when you devote a lot of time and energy and then die. It feels really bad to play for 2+ days and randomly die when you look away for 5 minutes. I get that comes with the kind of game it is, but at least with shorter games it stings much less. 4) shorter games means more overall opportunities to play which is good in my opinion especially in a raffle based enrollment process. I’m not quite sure how to make a longer but less demanding format of the game so I am interested in how that would work. I will say that I’m not sure that I love the idea of a teams-based format, but I think I’m just having trouble envisioning the concept. There could be potential I’m just not seeing. (It’s 5am rn for me I’m tired lol) I DO like the idea of zone control and map modifications. I definitely think that could spice things up and be really fun!
Chase I also still encourage a slight buff to payouts even in shorter format
Chase Until I figure out a way to make it less commitment demanding, I'm not going to make the game itself longer just yet. Also in the instance where the game is made longer, the cast would ideally be much bigger too so enrolment would remain fair. I do see why shorter royales are fun though. Maybe it could be like a quarter quell type thing where every 10th Royale is a high stakes longer format
Sin I like the quarter quell idea! That could be a lot of fun. Quarter quells could open the door for other fun new twists too!
