The Tagi Tribe - Toad, Rosalina, Peach, Luigi, Thwomp, Spiny, Fawful, Birdo The Pagong Tribe - Mario/Jumpman, Lakitu, Luma, Yoshi, Wart, Buzzy Beetle, Chuckya, Chain Chomp -“Come on in guys, it is now time to reveal the advantage Pagong won in this morning’s reward challenge. For winning reward, Pagong has earned a head start in today’s immunity challenge. Pagong will begin the challenge one stage ahead of Tagi. For the first time in this game, the stakes are real. Win and your tribe is safe from the tribal council and survives another few nights on the island. Lose and you have a date with me at tribal council tonight, where you will have to vote off one of your own.” -“This challenge will be contested with three stages. Tagi will start at stage one, which will challenge each member of your tribe to race through an obstacle course wearing a heavy backpack. Pagong will be starting on stage two, which is a balance section that must be crossed as a tribe. The final part, the first tribe to complete this section wins immunity and will be safe from the vote, will be completing a large goal pole puzzle.” “Pagong will start at the second stage and Tagi will start on stage one. On my mark, survivors ready? GO!” *Tagi begins one stage behind at the obstacle course, knowing they have to close this gap as quickly as possible. But Tagi begins to struggle early under the weight. Meanwhile, Pagong aims to use its head start as they charge into stage two. One castaway is not being slowed down by the pack at all and powers forward. One is surprisingly fast, one maintains a steady pace, but one of them is falling behind. One of the obstacles is really slowing them down. “Come on, come on!” They say out of frustration. They finally get over it, but Pagong is looking strong on the balance section. *Each of them must cross as a tribe, the challenge requires they move as a tribe and cross the beam as a tribe. One castaway is an immediate issue for their tribe. Their sheer size makes the platform tilt. “Slowly,” one castaway says, “Everyone together!” says another, and a third says “stop moving!” For several seconds, the Pagong tribe makes absolutely no progress. This allows Tagi to begin to close the gap. Tagi is able to complete stage one entirely and start stage two before Pagong can complete the balance beam. *When Tagi makes it to the beam one castaway immediately starts directing things, “one at a time! Match movements! Don’t rush!” Tagi begins to move as a cohesive unit. However, Pagong finally manages to get all of its members across and Pagong is able to start the puzzle first. Pagong begins their attempt to piece together a large puzzle that forms a goal pole. This is where we find out if their advantage pays off or if they let it slip through their fingers in a critical test of skill. The entire Pagong tribe already working on the puzzle. Tagi still struggling to get all of its members across the balance beam. *One member takes command of the puzzle for Pagong, “top section! Hand me that piece over there!” They hand it over and somebody else finds another one. Another castaway starts fitting pieces together on their own. Another castaway tries to take control. “That piece belongs on the other side!” “No, it doesn’t, look at the shape!” The castaway looks and sees that they are wrong, which silences them as the puzzle begins to take shape rapidly. While Pagong gets near the end of their puzzle, Tagi finally manages to get to start theirs. They are significantly behind here. One castaway steps up to take charge and try to close the gap. “Spread out and find the edges!” One castaway finds several and another grabs a handful of pieces. “We got this! We got this,” shouts one castaway, “just get it together!” shouts another. -“Pagong is almost finished over here. Looks like they are putting their final large piece into place now…yes! The pole is complete! Pagong wins immunity!” “Pagong has won both challenges in the first three days of this game. How does it feel?” Pagong celebrates. -“Well, as a result of winning today’s challenge, Pagong has won immunity. Pagong is safe from the tribal council. Tagi, got nothing for you. You have a date with me tonight at tribal council where you will have to vote for one of your own and they will become the first person voted out of this game. Pagong, head back to camp, good night. Tagi, head back to camp, see you later tonight.” -The mood at both camps is considerably different. Pagong knows that none of them are going home tonight. Tagi is feeling dejected, not only because one of them will be leaving tonight, but also as a result of back to back losses in the challenges. The mad dash begins for Tagi as the game gets very real. Tagi walks back to camp and as soon as they make it back, people are already trying to save themselves. Nobody is saying who a clear target is, but there are many small groups breaking off. -Three castaways huddle together for a private conversation. 1-“So, what do you think?” 2-“We need to do what will improve our tribe.” 3-“I agree, anyone who is actually contributing to the tribe should get to stay here.” 1-“Okay, so who is not contributing?” Nobody has an immediate answer. -Another couple of castaways are talking near the shelter. One of them admits that they know they must be on everyone’s mind because of how they struggled in the challenge. “I know I wasn’t exactly the greatest asset to the tribe today.” “Nobody was.” “Yeah, but even I blame myself for our loss out there today.” The other castaway gives them a reassuring hug. “You made sure to finish with the tribe. That’s what everyone will remember.” There seems to be a legitimate friendship developing between the two. -Meanwhile, another castaway appears ready to make their move. They approach another castaway. “We have a big a big decision tonight. It’s important we make the right one,” the other castaway just stares at them, “we have no choice!” Finally the other castaway responds, “who did you have in mind?” The first castaway pauses and looks around, “I am still not sure.” The second castaway just walks away from them. *Confessional 1- “Everyone writes me off, they think my personality is to just be goofy and socially awkward. They underestimate me, but I think I have this. I see all of the groups people are getting into around camp. Eventually I will work my way into all of them.”* -The night continues on and at least half of the Tagi tribe could be at risk. The obvious is the worst performer in the challenge. They struggled more than most, and that is concerning to a few members on the tribe, but, they get along with everyone on the tribe. Then there’s the unpredictable castaway who tried to make a move, but wasn’t sure against who. They are already starting to make people nervous. There’s the physical intimidation factor of one of the castaways, but they are one of the most useful around camp. There’s the quiet one, too quiet, so quiet that they have not formed any strong enough bonds around camp. -The sun begins to set over Borneo and our Mushroom Kingdom. The Tagi tribe is sitting around their makeshift camp, visibly not as put together as Pagongs. The vote still feels completely up in the air. Many of the castaways are trying to check in on one another. One castaway sits a part from the tribe. One simply watches everyone and one bounces back and forth between each small group. Across the island, Pagong peacefully enjoys not only their second consecutive win, but their night off as well. *The time quickly approaches. The fire at the Tagi camp burns and flickers brightly. The eight Tagi members sit together for the final time as a tribe. There is a poignant silence. One finally speaks, “everything is about to change.” There is no response. The camera pans to each castaway as the camplight flickers across their faces. There are nervous looks, smiles, watching each other, complete stillness, staring between castaways, whispers, and then silence falls. A leader appears to be emerging on each tribe, as well as everyone else’s role around camp, but is that enough to save certain castaways? #survivor #bloggames #Mario

The Tagi Tribe - Toad, Rosalina, Peach, Luigi, Thwomp, Spiny, Fawful, Birdo The Pagong Tribe - Mario/Jumpman, Lakitu, Luma, Yoshi, Wart, Buzzy Beetle, Chuckya, Chain Chomp *Back at the beach for the reward challenge, Jeff Probst finishes explaining the rewards for the winning tribe, “for two tribes desperately attempting to establish camp, this is an enormous reward,” says Jeff, “Tribes select your first runners!” Tagi selects Toad and Pagong selects Mario. Toad vs Mario: -Mario/Jumpman jumps out to an early lead. Toad appears to be gaining ground, but Mario tears through the opening section of the obstacle course. Mario has captured the first bag of puzzle pieces! Mario makes it back to his tribe and tags Chain Chomp for the second leg of the race. Chain Chomp takes off and absolutely flies through the course. “Chain Chomp really pulling through for the Pagong tribe, he has reached the second station, Pagong pulls even further ahead,” says Jeff. -Toad finally makes it back and tags Peach, but she immediately is not the fastest runner. She does however move carefully and efficiently. “Peach has retrieved the second bag for Tagi, Tagi not out of this yet!” says Jeff. Tagi has already selected Rosalina to do the puzzle, and another castaway makes note of the fact that the tribe thinks Rosalina is a good puzzle solver to the whole tribe. -Peach makes it back and tags Thwomp for the third and final leg of the race. Thwomp is effective, but also gets a few laughs from the castaways for his performance. Thwomp completely crashes through one of the obstacles…and another one. Until he is kind of destroying the entire course. Chuckya is tagged for the final part for Pagong and he does not fare much better. He too essentially destroys the course so both castaways return with the final bag for their tribes at the same time, so we go to the puzzle. -Both tribes open their bags and puzzle pieces scatter everywhere on both beaches. The puzzle is Lakitu, Luma, Yoshi, Wart, and Mario for Pagong vs Rosalina, Peach, Fawful, Birdo, and Luigi for Tagi. Both tribes immediately fail with their first few attempts. One castaway on Tagi starts shouting instructions to their tribe, “put that piece there, no! There! Listen to me!” They are promptly ignored. One castaway is studying the pieces carefully instead. -On Pagong, one castaway notices that the red cap goes toward the top of the mushroom. One castaway finds two matching pieces and another castaway places them. They click together and the mushroom begins to take shape. However, Tagi is making up for lost time and gaining ground. One castaway recognizes the final area that they need to complete the puzzle. “Turn that piece!” They shout to another castaway who turns it and they click into place. They are getting closer to the end of their puzzle, but… -Pagong realizes they only have one piece left. The seeming leader of the tribe grabs it and pushes it into place quickly. “The mushroom is complete! Pagong wins reward!” shouts Jeff and Pagong celebrates happily. One castaway bounces around excitedly, two castaways hug, one castaway throws up their arms, one has a satisfied smile, but Tagi watches dejectedly from the other side of the obstacle course, their puzzle only pieces away from completion. *“For winning the reward challenge, Pagong you have earned flint, fishing gear, cooking supplies, a tarp, and an advantage in the immunity challenge. Congratulations,” Jeff says handing over the reward. Several castaways are immediately grateful for the tarp, stating multiple uses for it and how valuable it is. Pagong realizes they have been given a great leg up towards a functioning camp life. Two castaways start to set up the fishing gear already. One studies the shore for possible fishing locations. Several castaways have their minds elsewhere. *But, for Tagi, they were just handed their first loss of the game. They return to camp with nothing. Their shelter is non-existent, no tarp, cooking supplies, fishing gear, or flint. The mood around camp has becoming noticeably palpable. “We really need that reward,” says one. “We will be fine,” says another. *One castaway looks at their tribemates and says, “we absolutely need to win immunity.” A castaway smiles at this, but says, “yes, but we also need to figure out who was responsible for our loss today.” To which another castaway looks at them and responds, “nobody was, we just were not the better tribe out there today.” The first castaway replies back, “sounds like something somebody who feels guilty would say.” The small social group reconvenes as the afternoon goes on, and they officially begin to work together. However, it is still not officially an alliance. They are just becoming more and more comfortable together. One castaway is obviously the social one of the group, two of them trust them and the third enjoys spending time with them. Meanwhile, the social one is also developing links with the other members of the tribe. One castaway notices all of this, they approach another castaway. -“It seems that our tribe has been taken over.” The other castaway looks annoyed. “Is that right?” The first castaway says, “yeah, it is, so we can stay here at the bottom or we can do something about it.” The second castaway does not fully trust them, but the idea is worth considering. Later, the first castaway approaches another, but this castaway is not interested in talking strategy. -The first castaway says, “you know that they are all afraid of your enormous physical strength?” The castaway just stares at them as they continue, “that means they think you are a threat.” The second castaway just mumbles something and the first castaway assumes that means they are on the same page. Back at the Pagong beach, they settle into their first real night as a tribe, and their first real meal. The fishing gear they won has already paid off. One castaway proves their worth with the food around camp. One castaway feels exhausted, but happy that they won the first challenge. -One castaway asks, “this is really fun, don’t you think?” To which another castaway responds, “ask us again if we lose the immunity challenge.” One castaway sits slightly apart from this group, they see an obvious problem like they did in the morning. The center of attention, asking these questions, that castaway is very likeable, physically strong, and smart. But eliminating this castaway first would prove difficult. So, he pulls aside a different castaway and another one and a third wanders over to them as well. These are not exactly in what could be called an alliance yet, but they are already coming together as a group under the idea that the one castaway trying to control the tribe should not be allowed to do so without a challenge. *The tribes get tree mail telling them it is now time to go to the beach for their second challenge. Jeff begins, “immunity is up for grabs! Winning tribe is safe from the tribal council, while the losing tribe must go to the first tribal council of the season and vote one of their own off of the island. Worth playing for?” The mood shifts, they all realize this isn’t about fishing gear, it has real consequences, and someone will be going home if they don’t win this. -The challenge is running through and navigating an obstacle course while carrying heavy backpacks, crossing the balance section as a tribe, and then completing the puzzle of a goal pole. Survivor Borneo: “16 castaways, 2 tribes, 1 Island, 1 Million Dollars, 1 Survivor!” -This morning, sixteen castaways arrive on a beach in a Borneo. The boat approaches the island. Their tribes were already predetermined before they even set foot on the boat and each castaway arrives with almost nothing. -Our host, Jeff Probst, tells them to quickly hop off the boat, take as many supplies as they can and head for shore. Once there, he informs them that they will be divided into two tribes of eight. They will live together, compete together, compete in challenges, and, one by one, vote each other off the island. They were brought here to survive not only the terrain, but each other. Eventually, the tribes will merge into one and they will compete as individuals, but, ultimately, only one of them can be crowned sole survivor and be rewarded one million coins. *They are then divided into/told their tribes: The Tagi Tribe – Toad, Rosalina, Peach, Luigi, Thwomp, Spiny, Fawful, Birdo The Pagong Tribe – Mario, Lakitu, Luma, Yoshi, Wart, Buzzy Beetle, Chuckya, Chain Chomp -They are tasked with building their camps, establishing shelter, gathering food and water, and immediately trust becomes the big question around both camps. The nature of their new social experiment means that nobody knows what to expect. Nobody knows how quickly alliances will shape the game to come. -The castaways all get their first real look at one another in this setting. Some obviously sizing up the competition. Some are noticeably trying to look like they are helping everyone, others are purposely fading into the background and watching, and some are just smiling. Some begin to look for supplies, some just watch everyone or one specific castaway, and some big energies begin to make their presence felt. *The Tagi Tribe hit the beach running. One castaway immediately made gathering supplies their focus, “get wood, get leaves, get something to sleep on!” they shouted, their enthusiasm was enough to get the others to follow. One castaway emerges by checking in on the entire tribe, making everyone feel included. Meanwhile, one castaway is noticeably not saying anything, but they are watching and they lock eyes with a second castaway doing the same. They approach each other, make jokes and compliments, and laugh, and they develop the first bond on the tribe. -Meanwhile, another castaway struggles, they claim that the island is not suited for them and jumps backwards at the sight of a large insect, they say that their best friend would know exactly how to handle this. Another castaway reassures them that they are doing fine, and a small bridge of trust forms. Two castaways are not nearly interested in talking with the group, they provide short answers when asked, they help gather wood, but don’t particularly enjoy being told what to do, so they feel a connection. -When the afternoon arrives, a small social group has formed. The word alliance is not used, but they spend most of their time together. One of them believes one of the outsiders is too unpredictable, but keeps it to themselves for now. *Over with Pagong, things are considerably more unclear. One castaway immediately takes charge of building a shelter, one looks for food, one examines the area around them, one just does general assisting work, things appear structured on the outside. One castaway is bouncing around attempting to appear helpful, another castaway notices and confronts them politely, and a third castaway just watches and laughs at the situation. -One castaway quickly establishes themselves as the strongest worker on the tribe and appears to be the only one interested in leading. They are chopping wood, carrying supplies, and organizing the shelter and the camp. However, not all of the castaways want an obvious leader of the tribe. -Making sure the obvious leader is distracted by work with another castaway, a couple of castaways with concerns discuss the situation and how good the leader is, and they understand each other immediately. Neither suggests anything yet, but the conversation took place. *The following day, each camp receives a message telling them to meet at the beach. Both tribes arrive at the beach to see a giant obstacle course set up. *The rules of the challenge are the tribes must race through the obstacle course, retrieve three bags containing puzzle pieces, carry the bags back, and be the first tribe to complete the puzzle of a mushroom. The winning tribe receives flint, fishing gear, cooking supplies, and a tarp. Worth playing for? (The winning tribe also receives a 2 vote advantage in the immunity challenge.)
